PRIZES will be given to the top position(s) of each leaderboard category.

Awards are presented on the basis of length as determined and verified by tournament judges.

• Stringer - measured by the total length of several fish

  • Stringer of 4 Perch

• Wild Card - random winner

• Most "YOOPER" Ice Shanty - It's a shanty decorating contest, eh!

EVENT OUTLINE:

All competitors are required to register for The Big Freeze Ice Fishing Derby, prior to check-in.

Tickets for the 2nd Annual Big Freeze Ice Fishing Derby are $89!

This includes: entry into the derby, a hoodie, a bump board, one drink and one meal ticket for the fishermen's dinner (following the competition), admission to the Fire & Ice Night: Chili Cook-Off & Delta County Search and Rescue Fundraiser Night (Friday Night at the Ruth Butler Building)....PLUS a chance to win prizes (including door prizes & wildcard drawings)!!

Check-in is located at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in the Ruth Butler Building on Friday February 17th from 5:00-8:00PM (EST).

At this time, all competitors will be required to sign a liability waiver. 

(Participants under 18 must have guardian's signature.)

** Register & enter hoodie size by February 1st to ensure that we have your correct size! **

Fishing begins on Saturday February 18th from 4:00AM - 2:00PM (EST).

All entries must be submitted before 2:00PM (EST) using the FishDonkey App.

Fishermen's Dinner will be catered by Wiles at 3:00 PM (EST) in the U.P. State Fairgrounds, Ruth Butler Building.

The winners & prizes will be announced between 3:30 - 4:00PM (EST).

Contestants must be present, with a valid Photo ID in order to collect prizes. 

Beverages will include: Upper Hand Brewery beer, water, lemonade, hot chocolate, and coffee.

Choice of one beverage will be included with dinner. (Additional drinks can be purchased)

** All individuals consuming alcohol will need a valid Photo ID, to be served. **

There will be games & warming areas from 3:00 - 6:00PM (EST).
